Braskem invests r $ 2.7 billion in 2013

Braskem registered in 2013 net revenue of $ 41 billion (+13% over the previous year) and EBITDA of r $ 4.8 billion (+22). In dollars, the EBITDA growth was 11%. The growth in sales volume in the domestic market; the exemption of raw materials; and the depreciation of the real, are among the factors pointed to. The net profit was $ 507 million, against a loss of r $ 738 million in 2012. The fourth quarter of 2013, however, contributed a net profit of only $ 15 million. Braskem invested r $ 2.7 billion in 2013, an increase of 58% over the previous year, value for asset maintenance and construction of integrated petrochemical complex Mexico, joint venture with Idesa. The agreement with Solvay for acquisition of control of Solvay Indupa, producer of PVC, is underway and is expected to provide an increase of 42% in PVC production capacity.
