Japan's multinational will have unit in Itapetininga

SOROCABA (SP)-the Toyoda Gosei, Japanese multinational auto-parts sector, announced the construction of the first unit of Latin America, in Itapetininga, 168 km from São Paulo. The company will invest $ 90 million in the production of parts and equipment for the interior of automobiles, such as airbags and instrument panels. One of the main customers, the Japanese automaker Toyota, has also in Sorocaba, in the same region. In the project presented on Friday to the Prefecture, Toyoda executives predicted the start of production for 2014. The factory will occupy the area of 220 square meters-the works start in June.
The Toyoda, which in Brazil will adopt the name of GDBR, will meet also other automakers. The industry joins a group of Eastern companies that settle on the axis between Campinas and Sorocaba, already known as polo Asian technology. In addition to the Korean Hyundai, Toyota and installed in Piracicaba, are part of the Chinese Foxconn, in installation phase in Itu, where is the Lenovo and other Chinese also, like Kyocera (Sorocaba), Nissin Brake, Aisin Seike, Sumitomo and Vuteq (Itu).
