GM invests $ 332 mi on engine plant

The announcement gives continuity to the automaker's plans to become more competitive. GM announced, just this year, investments totaling $ 1.2 billion in its u.s. factories, within a total of $ 1.5 billion.
The new investment should be directed to the development of a new small motor, with versions for three and four-cylinder, gasoline-powered, and christened Ecotec. And also a new version of the V6 engine, and 8-speed transmission and tools to a six-speed transmission.
The automaker is also investing in engine and transmission assemblies in two factories in Michigan, USA, at $ 46 million, to support the production of the new V6 engine.
Since 2009, GM announced investments that exceed $ 8.5 billion in its operations in the United States, generating 24,700 jobs in that country.
In the previous year, 2008, the company received a strong supply of u.s. Government resources to promote its restructuring amid the financial crisis.
