Danone's revenue rises 4.3% and reaches EUR quarter bi 5.34

The income from the food manufacturer Danone was 5.34 billion euros in the quarter, according to operating disclosed today by the French advance. High, comparing the numbers with the disclosed in the same period last year, was 4.3% — or 5.6%, excluding currency effects in the various countries in which it operates.
The main engine of sales growth from January to March was the infant nutrition segment of the company. The billing of the food area for babies was 1.18 billion euros, a 17.1% in 12 months. In the comparison without the currency effect, the increase would be 17.1%, caused mainly by increased demand for dairy products.
The most important region in the three months was the one that includes Asia, the Pacific, Latin America and Africa, with 2.17 billion euros, a high of 16.6%. The sales volume in China was quoted in various divisions as important for the sales growth — boosted by the Chinese new year, which occurred earlier in 2013.
The only countries where Danone had lower revenues in the quarter were Europeans, shows the prior. The recipe was 2 billion euros in the three months, a fall of 5.1% in total or 3.8%, without taking into account currency effects. "Consumer spending is still weak in Europe, especially for dairy products on a daily basis," the company said.
For 2013, the Group provides a continuity of anemic demand on the European continent and the escalation of costs on account of the price of the main raw materials used in their products. "We are therefore reevaluating our operations in Europe and, at the same time trying to save 200 million euros in costs by the end of 2014," said the Frenchwoman.
Even with these problems, the Danone estimates a high of 5% in sales during the year, excluding currency variation. The operating margin, however, is expected in fall of 0.3 percentage point to 0.5 point. The free cash flow, in turn, is designed in 2 billion euros, excluding "exceptional effects".
