Aurora increases investment in SC

The Santa Catarina Coopercentral Aurora, third largest processor of poultry and swine in the country, reported yesterday that it will invest R $ 61.5 million to reopen and triple the capacity of the refrigerator of pigs of Joaçaba, in the West of the State of Santa Catarina.
The amount is higher than the r $ 40 million announced by the company in February last year. Now, instead of duplicating the capability, the Aurora is intended to increase the capacity of the refrigerator a thousand pigs for 3 thousand a day. the initial plan envisaged increasing that capacity to 2.2 million animals.
According to the statement released by Aurora, refrigerator of Joaçaba will operate from January 2014. The unit is primarily responsible to meet the demand for pork exports.
At the end of last year, the company announced the three-year-lease for the amount of r $ 425 thousand per month – industrial unit of slaughter and processing of poultry in the bankruptcy of Chapecó food Industrial company, Xaxim, in the West of Santa Catarina.
