July inflation is the smallest in 5 years

The national index of broad consumer prices (IPCA), which measures the country's official inflation, was 0.19% in July. The rate is higher than 0.01% of June, but less than 0.33% of July 2018. This is the lowest inflation for the month since 2014 (0.01%), according to a survey by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The IPCA accumulates 2.42% in the year and 3.33% in 12 months, below, therefore, the goal of the Central bank, which is 4.25%. Housing expenditures, which had a high price of 1.20%, were the main responsible for inflation of 0.19% of July. The electric energy, with a high of 4.48%, was the item that most weighed in the group.
