Rice stocked in private warehouses reaches 646,800 tonnes

The private stocks of rice in Brazil reach 646,800 tonnes. Of this total, 578,400 tonnes correspond to the rice in husk and 46800 tonnes are of the product benefited, with equivalent in bark of 68800 tonnes. The data are in the private rice stocks survey carried out by the National Supply Company (Conab), released on Friday (7). The study brings the volume of the grain deposited on the 28th of February of this year, when it finishes the 2017/2018 harvest and was held in the storage units and beneficiation industries located in the largest producing states of Brazil: Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Mato Grosso, responsible for 83% of the country's paddy production. According to the result, there was a decrease of 6.15% in relation to the quantity declared in 2018, which was 689,300 T. Rio Grande do Sul is the state with the highest deposited volume, reaching 81% of the total cleared. According to the information of the industries and Storers gauchos, the total quantity reaches 526,270 tons of the product, being 464,540 tons of rice in husk and 41.99 tons of benefited, and the latter is equivalent to 61730 tonnes in bark. In Santa Catarina, the volume was 105,480 tonnes and in Mato Grosso 15100 T. The position of the total governmental stock at the reference date of 28/02/2019 corresponded to 31610 tonnes, representing 4.89% of the volume of the private sector. The information was collected through the private Inventory research system (SIPESP). The study is conducted annually and the consolidated data allow the Government to know the balance of supply and demand and will provide subsidies for the elaboration of agricultural and supply policies related to culture. Among the collected information are volume, type and spatial distribution and by segment of rice storers in husk and benefited.
