JBS will build metal packaging factory

The meat producer JBS will invest about R $100 million in the construction of a metal packaging factory in Guaiçara (110 kilometers from Bauru) and in the modernization of its unit in Lins, in the interior of São Paulo. Of this total, about R $80 million go to the new factory, which will produce cans of steel and aluminum. The start of the operation is scheduled for the first half of 2020. The unit will have three production lines and will be geared towards the domestic market. "With the inauguration of the plant, we will expand our production capacity of aerosols to more than 220 million packages per year and with the entry into the aluminum packaging segment, focusing on the cosmetics market as deodorants," said the director of JBS Metal Packaging, Marcelo Jorcovix.
