Only 6% of consumers make online grocery more than once a month

Online sales of supermarkets has not yet initiated, but the trend is accelerating in coming years, according to a research done in partnership between the consultancy Bain & Company and Google. The survey, done with 8000 consumers in the United States, shows that only 6% of all consumers made online orders more than once within a month. I see no advantage. One of the reasons for the use of the digital channels in the grocery shopping hasn't taken off is that consumers do not understand clearly the gain brought the alternative: among the respondents who said they had purchased online only once in the last 12 months, only 42% report that the experience saved them time. Seeing is believing. The perception of convenience tends to improve with time, says the study, because repeated use would show the advantages in the routine. Bain & Company and Google predict that online sales of supermarkets should triple in the next decade.
