Bolivian complex of propene and PP begins to take shape

Luis Alberto Sanchez, Bolivia's Hydrocarbons Minister, plans to conduct two tenders to private enterprise for the integrated complex of cherished propylene and polypropylene (PP) in the country, reports the Polyolefins consulting Consulting. The first refers to the detailed engineering of the project and the second, scheduled for the last quarter of 2019, focuses on supplies and construction of the complex in Gran Chaco province, in the municipality of Yacuíba. The work is budgeted at $ $2.2 billion, with support of the State's gas reserves Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) and funding provided by the Central Bank of Bolivia. The complex is scheduled for the end of 2012, discloses the YPFB, previewing the shipment of 80-90% of unit production of 250,000 t/a of the polymer to destinations such as Brazil, Peru, Argentina and China.
