Bacalhoada gets more expensive in this Easter

The items used for the preparation of one of the most traditional Easter dishes, a bacalhoada, are more expensive this year, according to a survey of the Federation of trade in goods, services and tourism of the State of São Paulo (FecomercioSP). Based on data from February of the national consumer price index (IPCA), the organisation points out that, in the past 12 months, the tomato and the onion were products that had a higher increase of 48.26% and 27.18%, respectively. Other items such as English potatoes (18.20%), broccoli (1.48%) and fish (2.52%) also recorded high prices. On the other hand, the average prices of chocolate bars and candy fell 10.62% compared to last year. To meet the demands of Easter, the FecomercioSP estimates that up to 2000 formal employment temporary vacancies are created in the State of São Paulo in Brazil. Such admissions focused until the first two weeks of March. The expectation is that two-thirds of these disappear hypermarkets. The organisation points out that this is the first commemorative of the year for the retail trade, requiring more detailed planning on the part of the entrepreneur. "The Federation strengthens that in 2017, 1600 celetistas posts were generated, and in 2016, the temporary hiring was hardly felt in numbers, since the economic trend was receding in the labour market retailer," said economists from FecomercioSP, in a statement. The projection for this year, according to FecomercioSP, by the continued increase in the confidence of entrepreneurs and by the expectation of more positive sales. "Despite the more optimistic scenario, the result of a better household consumption trend, this year's estimate is significantly lower than the numbers of 2014 and 2015, when the temporary hiring 3000 retail vacancies ... bordered paulista", they say.
