To retain customers, Braskem opened your first lab of solvents. Located in Santo André (SP), the unit will focus on the development of custom solutions. "We understand that there was no need to have an application lab, which represent the development to the final product of the customer", explains the sales manager for the business of Braskem solvents, Claudia Madrid. She tells that the main segments served are the paints, adhesives and agribusiness. "We have invested in new equipment, hiring and training of employees since the beginning of the year." Claudia reveals that the lab is part of a strategy to get closer to their customers. "A company draws up an automotive paint and you want a specific feature, such as greater brightness. We have prepared a chemist for that application. This service more personalized help on loyalty. " The company considers that the location of the laboratory, in the greater ABC's petrochemical pole, represents a logistical advantage. "It is important for a strategic reason, large companies are in the paint, in cities such as Santo André and Guarulhos", points Claudia. The values of the investment were not disclosed, because the company is in a quiet period until the release of the quarterly statement, on 12 November. The Executive estimates that the year 2018 was challenging for the market. "We have an important relationship with the auto industry, which comes from numbers very repressed. We saw a certain recovery in 2018. Already the paint sector grew just above the GDP and the market of adhesives, more connected to consumption – as the footwear industry – were more depressed. " She also points out that exchange rate volatility has impacted the entire sector. "We have the reflection in the raw material, affects the whole market, but it was no different from past years. The sector is already used to it. " To 2019, the company is optimistic. "We want to take advantage of this expectation of market and strengthen our focus on this service and more personalized," he says.
