Dow affixed to the national market growth of polyethylene

According to the management of packaging and Plastics Division of Dow Chemical, the levels of consumption of polyethylene (PE) in Brazil are stabilizing next presented levels before the crisis. The evaluation can be received with relief to the sector, which has suffered falls in consumption over the past two years exceeding 10%. If confirmed the good expectation to 2017, the Dow can consider investing and more production of PE in South America, despite that the expansion would take place probably in Argentina, where it has plants.
Dow Chemical has invested in several parts of the world to increase your production of polyethylene. In 2015 inaugurated a complex in the Middle East in partnership with Saudi Aramco, and in the United States a project of more than 6 billion dollars should be completed soon, producing the polymer from shale gas Mexican. This expansion seem to justify the good results presented by the Dow''s plastics industry, representing 3.2 billion dollars in the company''s Ebitda. It''s been more than four years of rising profits and three years of growth in production and sales volume; a perspective that should only improve with the merger with DuPont, whose portfolio of plastics is seen as complementary.
