Positive balance of Cielo-Cielo''s profit rises to $4 billion in 2016

The card merchant acquirer and payment processor Cielo reported a net profit of R$ 4.005 billion in 2016, an increase of 14.1% compared to the previous year. The adjusted net profit for the period was R$ 4.275 billion, a 14.4% increase on the same basis of comparison. The volume of purchases made with credit cards and debit cards totaled R$ 584.9 billion in 2016, a growth of 6.7% in the year. Already the Ebitda, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, was $5.5 billion in the year R$, which corresponds to a high of 5.8% on 2015. Only in the fourth quarter of 2016, the net income amounted to 1.011 billion R$ Cielo, with high of 0.2% compared with the third quarter and 18.6% compared to the same range as the previous year. Adjusted net income totaled 1.079 billion R$, up 0.2% from the third quarter and an increase of 17.3% compared to the previous year.
