Nokia makes offer of 347 million euros by Comptel

Helsinki-the Finnish telecommunications equipment maker Nokia reported on Thursday that it intends to buy the Comptel for around 347 million euros to expand the software services Division.
Nokia and its rivals, including the Swedish Ericsson and Huawei, Chinese are facing difficulties, since the demand for 4 g mobile broadband equipment has peaked and the transition to the next generation 5 g is still years away.
Nokia said its customers now are turning to software, in order to make their networks more intelligent.
"The planned acquisition is part of Nokia''s strategy to build a business of scale software, expanding and strengthening your portfolio and capabilities with additional sales and a network of strategic partners," said the Finnish company said in a statement.
The proposal from Nokia is 3.04 euros per share in cash, representing a premium of 29% over the last closing price of Comptel.
The Comptel, whose sales totaled about 100 million of euros in 2016, said the Executive Board and the shareholders who hold about 48% of papers supported the offer.
Last year, Nokia bought the franco-American group Alcatel-Lucent in a deal of 15.6 billion euros.
