Johnson Johnson sees growth & digit in 2017

São Paulo – the Johnson Johnson see in Brazil a & scenario more positive sales to 2017 in comparison with the last year, particularly in the second half.
During the event the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham), the chairman Suzana Rivetti, responsible for operations in Latin America from the consumer group, said that the company still expects an increase of the order of one digit instead of two (below 10%) therefore, but assessed that the scenario is more positive for sales volume of units.
"I believe that in the second half we will accelerate growth and this first semester should be more difficult for the market in which we operate," he said. "But 2017 must have a combination of volume and better price," he said.
Second Rivetti, the year 2016 brought good results until the third quarter, even though the environment was more difficult in the last quarter of the year.
She stressed, however, that the results last year were driven more by price adjustments than by sales growth in volume. This equation tends to improve in 2017, he said.
The sales volume of consumer goods has been affected by a change in consumer behaviour in retail sales channels such as supermarkets.
McKinsey data presented during the event of Amcham indicate that 23% of consumers no longer buy their favorite brands and replaced by cheaper brands.
There is still a group of 46% of consumers who continued buying the same marks, but made adjustments such as reducing the amount bought or buy only in promotions.
Despite the scenario, Rivetti considered that big multinationals, like Johnson Johnson, still should continue & believing in the potential of the Brazilian consumption.
"The multinationals, we need a strong reflection of the Brazil," he said. "China is A big market, but the Chinese consumer is difficult. Already the potential of Latin American consume is much larger than the other emerging countries, "he added.
