High of 7% expect shopping in Christmas sales and should increase hiring

The tenants of shopping centers of Brazil should raise in 5% temporary hiring this year, betting on an increase of about 7% in the Christmas sales, said this Wednesday (8) the association representing the industry, Abrasce.
"Most of the malls expected to leverage sales this Christmas compared to last year, which was hard and little trade growth," said Reuters Adriana Colloca, Director of operations at Abrasce.
In 2016, the Christmas sales had marginal advance of 0.3%, according to the Association.
According to Adriana, the growth expected for this Christmas should be pulled by the segments of clothing, electronics and footwear. She even stated that a stronger performance this year should enable the sector achieve the expectation outlined for 2017, from a high of 5 to 7% in total sales.
"Month-to-month growth rates in the second half are being somewhat larger than the first," she said.
The accumulated result until September already indicated high of 5% in sales, representing an acceleration front positive variation of 4% accurate until June.
The Abrasce haven't closed the estimates for next year, but Adriana evaluates macroeconomic indicators suggest a more optimistic scenario. "The employment rates, consumer confidence, interest rates and inflation point, in General, to better 1 2018," commented.
