White sugar is the most consumed daily, says survey

About 71% of the respondents consume sugar. Of this total, 85% prefer the White type for daily use. Following options appear Brown (3%) and by demerara (1%). The version used is the light (0.5%). The data are from the survey "balanced Consumption: a new perception on sugar", held by the Institute Dante Pazzanese of Cardiology within the Sweet Balance Campaign.
According to the survey, in a multiple choice question, 88% of those who consume sugar stated using the ingredient in tea or coffee, 62% in the preparation of desserts and cakes, 57% in the juices and 42% in milk. In addition, most States ingest sweet (cake, pies etc) from one to three times a week and 26% every day.
Among the more sugary foods consumed are the biscuits and cookies (46%) and homemade cakes and sweets (45%). The juices of little box appear with 26.5% and, lastly, the sweet breads, with about 21% of the preference. There is a portion of respondents (29%) that doesn''t eat sugar, and the minority of this total makes use of sweeteners to meet the need of the sweet taste.
"With this research, we had one more proof that the sugar is part of a Brazilian routine significantly. Much has been spoken of as the villain health ingredient, not real. We must always remember the balanced consumption, once put into practice, does not bring any risk, "explains Dr. Daniel Magnoni, cardiologist and Chief of nutrition of the Institute Dante Pazzanese of cardiology.
