Organic sector must grow 30% in the country

Sao Paulo-the Brazilian search for healthy eating, as well as in products, and the value added offered to producers, made the national organic market grow above average in recent years.
The industry moves about from R$ 2.5 billion, with 30% growth perspective only this year.
To get an idea, in 2013 were 6,700 organic production units across the country. Now, there are about 14,500 units, which means 22.5% of the municipalities.
However, the estimate of the Ministry of agriculture, livestock and food supply (Mapa) shows the evolution of the sector: reach 30 1000 units of production in up to three years.
"Ten years ago there were very few processing industries in the sector. Currently, there are more than 1000 companies, "says the Coordinator of Agroecology, Rogério Dias.
According to him, the processed products gave the industry competitiveness. "Increased the shelf time for the product. So the industry began to come into markets where fresh foods would not have access, "said days INN, during the 12th International Fair of Organics and Agroecology (Bio Brazil Fair), which began yesterday and runs until Saturday (11) at the bienal do Ibirapuera, in São Paulo.
Lack technical assistance
In the evaluation of Days, one of the obstacles to be resolved to enhance further organic production is customer service. "The producer thinks: '' I want to get out of conventional performance, stop using pesticides, but who can guide me? '' That''s a problem, "points out. Another aspect is the difficulty of access to inputs. "In any house or veterinary products for agricultural pesticides. Already the inputs for organic producer who''s are hard to find ", complements the Map.
The main producing areas are South and Southeast, with an emphasis on vegetables, legumes, vegetables, rice and sugar. On the other hand, the North and the Northeast see gaining prominence with grains (nuts) and the organic beekeeping.
According to the Executive Director of the Brazilian Council of Organic and Sustainable Production, Ming Chao Liu, the processed-food industry began to look differently to these products because of high added value.
"What''s ten years focused on fruits, vegetables and vegetables, today begins to have more industrialized products, such as juices, cereal bars and yoghurts. With this, the launch of new products is growing by up to 40% per year ", says Ming Chao.
Opportunity
This was precisely the case of Art, Curitiba (PR) company that has been operating for more than 20 years with the industrial processing of natural foods, cooked to steam and vacuum packed. In 2015, the bet was in organic line that includes beans and brown rice.
"With a greater possibility of greater supply of raw materials of organic products, we saw the possibility of launching this line of organic products. The consumer relates the dishes ready to excess additives such as preservatives and salt. Then, he sees this news in a positive way, "said export manager of Art, Luiz Fernando Mion.
Internal market numbers are considered positive, since the regulation here occurred only in 2011. In more developed markets, as United States and Europe, that happened much earlier-in 2001 and 2004, respectively.
