Inflation index on the internet goes up 1.25% in May compared with April, says Ibevar

SÃO PAULO-inflation index on the internet, known as e-flation and calculated by the Brazilian Institute of Retail executives and Consumer Market (Ibevar), in partnership with the Retail Management program (Prove), was discharged from 1.25% in May compared with April. The result earned in 12 months, inflation stood at 17.18%. In the first five months of this year, the accumulated high is 8.17%.
Of the ten categories surveyed, six rose in may on the Bank. The largest was in movie and photos (5.95%), followed by toys (5.52%), household appliances (4.14%), electronics (3.99%), telephony and mobile phones (3.16%) and Books (2.65%). On the other hand, four categories registered fall in prices: CDs and DVDs ( -6.67%), data processing ( -3.75%), Medicines ( -3.41%) and Perfumes and cosmetics ( -0.57%).
E-flation was created in 2004 with the aim of monitoring the variation in the prices of consumer products purchased through e-commerce. For calculation of weights for each category, are used data issued by the company e-bit.
