Agricultural storage network in the country grows 0.8% in the second half of 2015

RIVER-the Country recorded an increase in the number of active storage establishments in 2015 compared to the first half of the year, according to the survey of Inventories, released on Thursday, 9, by the Brazilian Institute of geography and statistics (IBGE). The total number of establishments rose from 7,858 units in first half to 7,918 in 2015, an increase of 0.8%.
There was an increase of 3.3% of the installed capacity for storage in establishments active in this period. The total usable capacity available in Brazil for storage was 166.1 million tons in the second half of 2015.
The silos predominated, storable for usable capacity reaching 72.4 million tons in 2015, an increase of 3.3% over the first half. As a result, the bulk warehouses and granelizados reached 63.2 million tonnes of usable capacity 5.9% growth, storable.
