Sale of vehicles falls 26% up to day 28 of February

The licensing of light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses new in Brazil in February until Sunday fell 26% as compared to the same period last year, said on Monday (29) an industry source with access to sales data.
The formal license plates carried out between 1 and 28 of February totaled 136.8 1000 units, which corresponds to an average per working day of just 7,200 vehicles, before 7,764 average units in January and February 2015 units 9,787.
The sector releases from Wednesday the consolidated data of the month. If the average per working day is confirmed, the licensing of February will add 144 1000 units, a drop of about 22.5% on February last year and 7% retreat in comparison with January.
According to the source, sales of cars and light commercial in February until Sunday totaled 132.5 1000 units while truck licenses were 3.6 1000 vehicles and buses involved about of 690 units.
The National Association of Automotive vehicle manufacturers (Anfavea) predicts fall of 7.5% in licensing this year, the fourth consecutive annual retreat to 2.376 million units.
In January, production of vehicles was the worst for the month since 2003. The President of Anfavea, Luiz Moan, said in early February that within two months the numbers tended to be even weaker, on the need for adjustment of the stocks, which closed January 254.3 1000 units, enough for 49 days.
The National Federation of distribution of motor vehicles (Fenabrave) discloses tomorrow sales data and Anfavea opens production numbers next Friday
