Autoindústria is responsible for shrinking employment, says IBGE

River-the auto industry was the main responsible for the fall of 6.2% in the industrial job in the country in 2015.
The number of slots in the means of transport activity shrank 11.4 percent, according to the monthly industry research employment and Wages, released by the Brazilian Institute of geography and statistics (IBGE).
The activity has a weight of about 8% on the calculation of the population occupied in the industry, behind only food segment.
Although all 18 sectors investigated have fired workers last year, cutting openings in the means of transport was the main pressure on the overall result of the industrial job in the country.
"(Means of transport) is the sector that stands out in any of these comparisons: people occupied, numbers of hours paid to workers and actual payment sheet value.
In industrial production, this activity is always also the most highlighted in negative terms, "pointed out Andrew Macedo, Manager of the IBGE industry coordination.
The transportation segment reduced to 12.4% the number of hours paid to workers in 2015. The value of the payroll industry shrank 13.4% real.
"The auto industry came along to 2015 with reductions in journey of workers, job cuts, layoff scheme and high stocks", said Macedo.
The Manager of the research, however, points out that the deterioration in the labour market was widespread industrial in 2015.
Both the employment as the number of hours paid retreated in December last year to the lowest level ever recorded by the survey, which began in December 2000.
As a result, the total number of employees in the manufacturing sector is already 16% below the peak recorded in July 2008, while the total number of hours paid is 18% lower than the peak reached in September of the same year.
"It''s a widely negative behavior, and could not be otherwise, since you have a production also with negative behavior. The labor market is clearly confirming that 2015 was a difficult year for the industrial segment, "said the researcher.
In the evaluation of Macedo, the industry remains hampered by the lower confidence of entrepreneurs and consumers, which affects consumption and investment, with reflection on the labour market in the sector.
"The scenario is not modified. The economic situation has not changed. Not by chance the indicators (industrial) keep this downward trend, whether from the perspective of the labour market is from the perspective of production ", he concluded.
