Telefonica will have new President from 2017

Sao Paulo-the Brazilian Executive Eduardo Navarro de Carvalho, President of the Board of Directors of Telefónica Alive, will assume the post of President of the telephone company, replacing the Israeli Amos Genish, reported on Sunday the company.
In a statement released, Telefónica Brazil indicated that the decision was made by the Board of Directors at a meeting held on Friday and the new President and CEO will take over the position from 1 January 2017.
Carvalho is metallurgical engineer by profession and held the post of Chairman of the Board of Directors of brazilian subsidiary since June.
Genish, who was at the helm of the company since the acquisition for a year and a half of company GVT, which was part and led the integration of operations of both companies, had informed his intention to leave at the end of this year the Office of Assembly President and CEO of Telefónica Brazil.
The President and CEO of the Telefonica Group, José María Álvarez-Pallete, thanked the "dedication and commitment" of Genish, who will leave his post for "personal reasons" and stressed the "important" oak path since its arrival to the company in 1999.
