São Paulo trade turnover shrink 6.9%

São Paulo-São Paulo retail sales retreated an average of 6.9% in the first half of this month compared to the same period of 2015, according to calculations of the São Paulo commercial Association (ACSP).
The result, according to the entity, confirms that at this year''s children''s day was worse than expected. On the other hand, the performance of this first half of October is better than the year-to-date period (January to September), when the average downturn was 9.9% compared to the same period of 2015-the falls were 6.4% and 13.4% in transactions and long, respectively.
"The falls have been getting smaller, but it is important to note that haven''t come to concrete improvements in the macroeconomic scenario: they happen basically because, in 2015, had been very strong. The trend, therefore, was precisely that they diminish over time, "explains the President of ACSP, Alencar Burti, who spoke through the note. According to the Executive, by Christmas there will be new gradual reductions.
