Sales for the children''s day retreat 4.2% in 2016

Data da Boa Vista SCPC (Service Central de credit protection) show that in 2016 the trade sales for the Day of the children retreated 4.2 percent when compared to last year. In 2015, trade sales retreated 3.4% compared to the same period in 2014. With this, the result registers its worst performance for the historical series of the children''s day, which began in 2008.
The FecomercioSP estimated that the total retail turnover was 3.9% lower than in 2015 (against inflation), about 2.2 R$ billion less than last year.
According to the entities, the fall of sales in the children''s day follows the widespread retreat of economic activity, influenced by the high interest rates, increased unemployment and cautious consumers.
The calculation of the volume of sales for this date is based on a sample of the consultations held in the database of the Boa Vista SCPC, with national reach. To this Day the children were considered the consultations held during the period from 1 to 12 October 2015, compared to the consultations held in the same period last year. The variation in real revenues, in turn, is estimated based on the variation and the participation of the consultations and in the projection of the FecomercioSP for the billing of the PMC (Monthly Trade Survey) of the IBGE.
