IPCA stands at 0.08% in September

The IPCA (national consumer price Index Broad) September ranged 0.08%, well below the 0.44% of August and was the lowest since the rate of 0.01% July 2014. With this result, the year-to-date stands at 5.51%, much less than the 7.64% recorded in the same period of the previous year. Considering the last 12 months, the rate has dropped to 8.48%, down from 8.97% relating to 7meses immediately preceding 12. In September 2015 the IPCA was 0.54%. The data were released on Friday (7/10) by IBGE (Brazilian Institute of geography and statistics).
The food group, which accumulated high of 9.11% from January to August, showed the biggest fall in September Group ( -0.29%), taking the year to 8.80%. Individually, the smallest variations were recorded in the metropolitan regions of Victoria ( -0.98%), and Curitiba ( -0.96%). Five of the 13 regions surveyed showed increases in the output of the group, being in Bethlehem the highest rate (0.53%).
Considering the food at home, the fall was 0.60%, while food away from home rose 0.33 percent.
Most of the items surveyed showed reduction in rate of growth or decline in prices from one month to the other. Milk prices, which climbed consistently since the beginning of the year, fell 7.89 percent, generating impact of-0.10 percentage points (p.p.) in the index, the more expressive impact down.
