Doubles the number of franchises abroad

The number of overseas franchises almost doubled in the period between 2010 and 2016: of 68 were to 134. Despite the good number, this value represents only 5% of deductibles in Brazil, which today have 3,073 networks.
The index is the same of presented six years ago, showing that the only growth came with the launch of new companies in the sector. The survey was conducted by the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF) and from ESPM.
The research, in addition to assess quantitatively the number of franchises, also assessed the quality of these units. Almost half (49%) evaluated networks were classified as having an "experimental" involvement with only one drive abroad and are just testing the market; while 29 percent have "active involvement"; and 22% have "high commitment".
"In General, we realize with this research that Brazilian companies are still young and have basically institutional interest," said Telma Rock, a Professor of international relations at ESPM and a responsible for the research. According to her, the average time of franchises abroad is eight years and the main reasons for decision making are strengthening the brand and information on the international market.
According to Telma, most networks abroad are those structures with longer operation. One of the examples is the iGui pool, that''s a long time ago with units outside of Brazil and today leads between the franchises internationalized.
