Xiaomi Chinese manufacturing begins of smartphones in Brazil

The Chinese manufacturer of smartphones Xiaomi began manufacturing equipment in Brazil, an Executive said on Tuesday, in an effort to avoid the high import tariffs that raised prices and slowed down the adoption of smartphones in the country.
The Xiaomi also announced that it will start selling its smartphone Redmi 2 in Brazil for 499 reais on July 7.
The initiative takes the company's appliances for the first market outside of Asia, where its aggressive pricing and connection with the client gained significant market share.
Xiaomi phones are assembled in Brazil with Foxconn, which manufactures Apple's iPhones in the country since 2011.
