Unilever lowers and aerosol technology opens for competition

To promote the new 85 ml format (instead of the traditional size, between 169 ml and 175 ml) the multinational will offer its technology to competitors. Developed by ten years in European laboratories and prepared with research for two years in Brazil, the "deliver the same efficiency at the same price," says Fernando Fernandes, President of the company.
"The aerosol antiperspirants pills generate a 30% saving in aluminum packs; 30% in carbon footprint and 50% propellant gas (responsible for product output of Tin), "he says. With this, there are 53% more products per pallet and 35% fewer trucks on the streets, he says.
Fernandes acknowledged that the company is not philanthropic, but says "be sustainable is not an option, it's the only way to keep business and ensure a better future". The Executive says that, despite the economy that the new version will allow, it is not feasible to cut prices, due to the investment made in technology, not value informed.
The company also does not disclose its projection of sales and production of new packaging. They leave the factory from Monday (22) and will be on sale alongside the original deodorants on 1 July. The aerosols of the company will continue to be produced in Argentina. In Brazil, laundry detergent, fabric softener and liquid Unilever already have concentrated formats.
The Akatu Institute accompanied the development of the product, according to its President Helio Mattar.
