Videojet ink more launches new grip for applications in returnable bottles

Cold filling at high speeds the movement throughout the supply chain, the applications in returnable bottles require a lot of work in the formulations of ink for the coding of bottles. To meet the demanding requirements of adhesion, durability and washing of bottlers, the Videojet announced its latest innovation in ink for the continuous inkjet printers (CIJ) 1000 series-V420 and V528. Using a different chemistry and a grippy sole agent, these new paints offer exceptional grip in variable environments and conditions of condensation, in addition to the benefit of code removal easy with caustic washing.

According to Heidi Wright, Manager of the business unit supplies on Videojet, "this development was the direct result of active contact with the customers."We make solid partnerships with our customers to better understand their needs and then provide innovative products to meet these criteria. These inks are an excellent example of the value that we offer to our customers through our dedicated research and development initiatives. "

The V420 and V528 are formulated specifically to withstand the challenging conditions which are exposed to the bottles, including filling conditions in variable temperature, as well as hot and humid environments. Their unique chemistry helps ensure quick drying and exceptional grip in high-speed bottling applications. These MEK based inks offer an ideal balance of resiliency and ease of use while maintaining the quality of the code until the bottles pass by caustic washing process after the return, at which time the codes can be easily removed by the bottler. Both inks are for use with Videojet printers series 1000, although V528 has been specifically designed for the high-speed model.

Wright concludes: "extensive Tests were conducted to verify the performance of these new paints and they exceeded other offers on the market. We are very excited to announce that these new paints will help our customers not only to achieve the excellent code quality that are used, but they can also benefit from the increased performance in harsh environments and variables in the entire chain of production and distribution ".

With over 40 years experience developing paints, the Videojet invested important resources to create ink solutions and leading encoding for a wide variety of substrates and applications. Dealing with a variety of customer challenges, the Videojet continuously monitors trends of packaging regulations and customer needs to innovate and help the Videojet ensure that solutions meet the printing requirements of manufacturers.
