Apple tests Smart Watches market with debut silent

Apple Watch will ship with a sigh more than with fanfare on Friday, an unusual start for the company that can reflect some uncertainty regarding the demand by the first new product of the current head of Apple, Tim Cook.
The company did not reveal how many orders received prior to the release of 24 April, a contrast in relation to earlier releases of iPhones and iPads. And Apple's stores will have no watches for sell on Friday, which will be available in some luxury stores around the world.
Apple wasn't sure if the clock would create lines around the stores, which historically were seen by the company with their iPhones, said Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster.
"The launch less allows them to see how it goes and this removes some of the risk and expectation about the queues," said Munster. "If they do the old fashioned way and there were no good lines, it would be a problem."
The demand came in better than expected, according to Munster, which provides more than 2 million watches sold in the quarter to be terminated in June. The senior analyst at FBR Capital Markets Daniel Ives raised its estimate for 2015 of 17 million to 20 million, based in part on online orders.
"There was a question about whether the trajectory and the demand for wearable devices in the Apple ecosystem was real," said Ives. "But the answer is a resounding Yes." Now Apple faces the question of whether consumers confused will at Apple Stores on Friday.
"Many consumers must go to the stores on Friday to buy a watch," he said.
Apple said that some consumers will obtain the watches faster than promised. "Our team is working to meet the requests as soon as possible based on available supply and on the order in which they were received," said Apple in a statement on Wednesday.
Apple has opted for the simplicity of online orders due to logistical difficulties for the clocks: there are 38 variants that would need to keep in stock, when taken into account the various sizes, styles and bracelets, with prices of $ 349 for the sports version to 10 thousand dollars or more for the Gold Edition.
In fact, the only watches that will be for sale on Friday will be in luxury boutiques and department stores that Apple chose to help position the appliance as a fashion item.
