Price of 5% up remedies to 7.7% from this Tuesday

The federal Government authorized adjustments of 7.70%, 6.35% and 5% in the prices of medicines, depending on the category of the product, from this Tuesday, 31 the values, calculated by industry and anticipated by the newspaper O Estado de s.Paulo last week, contained in resolutions of the Board of market regulation of Medicines (CMED) published in the Diário Oficial da União (GIVE).
According to the authorization, the adjustment has as reference the latest Manufacturer Price (PF) published in the price list on the page of internet CMED The adjustment is based on a model of ceiling prices calculated on the basis of the national consumer price index (IPCA), Wider by a factor of productivity, in a plot of relative price adjustment factor intrassetor and a portion of relative price adjustment factor between sectors, at three levels.
The rules apply to about 20 thousand items in the pharmaceutical market, as antibiotics. Products with high market competition, herbal remedies and homeopathic medicinal products are not subject to the values established by CMED. For this group, the price may vary according to the manufacturer's determination.
The CMED determines three adjustment ranges, according to the competition faced by the product on the market. The greater the competition, the greater the percentage allowed for adjustment (7.70%) For the intermediate level, therapeutic classes of drugs considered to be median, increased competition will be 6.35%. For those more focused-formed by remedies that are still patent-protected, such as those used in cancer treatment-the maximum percentage increase will be 5%.
The increase this year is well above the authorized last year. In 2014, the maximum rate was 5.68%. In the intermediate class, the readjustment granted was 3.35% and the lowest, of 1.02%.
