Culls of chickens grew in 2014

According to the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of geography and statistics), the chicken slaughter totaled 1.41 billion heads in the last quarter of 2014.
In comparison with the same period in 2013, an increase of 3.7% in the number of slaughtered animals. In comparison with the previous quarter, the result was virtually stable, reduction of 0.1%.

Year to date of 2014, 5.49 billion chickens were slaughtered, an increase of 1.9% compared to the previous year.
