AmBev and Whirlpool hit partnership for beverage machine, Cade approves operation

The Administrative Council for economic Defense (Cade) approved, without restrictions, joint venture of beverage giant Ambev with the manufacturer of Whirlpool appliances for development, production and sale of machine for preparing beverages like coffee shops, soda, juices and beers with the use of capsules.
The approval for the operation was given by the local authority in order published on Tuesday in the Diário Oficial da União. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Type B machines. Blend produce several types of beverages through the use of capsules, also delivering hot and cold purified water with gas.
In document, Cade pointed out that the joint venture between Ambev and Whirlpool "aims to expand the scope of production of drinks of the appliance, broadening the range of capsules available for the production of soft drinks, isotonic drinks, energy drinks, juices, beers and malt beverages".
Each party will have 50 percent of the business, which also includes the sale of capsules for the machine, plus related products in Central American countries, except Mexico, the Caribbean and South America.
Sought, Ambev and Whirlpool Brazil don't have spoken immediately.
