Imports of chemical products totaled $ 3.2 billion in the first month of the year

Brazilian imports of chemical products totaled $ 3.2 billion in January 2015, representing a decrease of 7.1% in comparison with the month of December and 9.3% in comparison with January 2014.
Already, exports of $ 1.1 billion, also accused falls of 9.6% and 7.4%, respectively for the same periods. Thermoplastic resins were, at the same time, the chemicals imported more and more exported by Country in the month, representing 12.5% ($ 397,5 million) of the total imported in January and 14.3% ($ 157,3 million) of the Brazilian foreign sales of chemicals.
The result of the balance of trade of chemicals indicated a deficit of approximately $ 2.1 billion in the first month of the year and more than $ 30.9 billion in the last twelve months.
In terms of volumes, imports of 2.6 million tons represent a decrease of 6.9% compared to last January and 16.6% expressive in comparison to December 2014. In turn, exports of 1.4 million tons meant an increase of 7.1% compared to January 2014 and of 4.4% in relation to last December.
