Eggs/Cepea: limited supply and lift prices higher consumption by up to 37% on month

The reduced supply and demand have heated strongly rising prices for eggs. According to researchers at the Center for advanced studies in applied economics (Cepea), the Esalq/USP, despite being typical recovery in February, mainly as a result of back-to-school and the beginning of lent, the elevations of 2015 are well above those recorded in the same period in 2014. In Bastos (SP), the country's main producing region, the extra type egg red, to withdraw, came up 30% in this month's partial. In the negotiations that include the delivery of the product, the valuations of the extra red beiraram the 40% in the greater São Paulo and Belo Horizonte.
According to researchers at the Cepea, the smaller supply of eggs is a result of the strong heat of January, which hurt both the volume produced as the quality of the shell and the egg size, at the same time that led to the death of the older chickens. On the other hand, the mild temperatures of the last few weeks have been encouraging, albeit slowly, the resumption of production of eggs. The size of the product also begins to return to normal. The aggregate supply, however, is still below the demand, reaching missing eggs in some regions surveyed by the Cepea.
In regions where prices include freight, the adjustments were the most expressive between 30 January and 20 February. For extra type egg, red, increased enough to 37% for the product delivered on the big SP and also in greater Belo Horizonte, with r $ 96,63 and R $ 97.82, respectively, on Friday, 20. In Rio de Janeiro, where business had an average of R $ 98,26/cx 20 day, the cumulative adjustment are in 36%.
The average price of extra type, white, placed in greater Sao Paulo, rose 28% over the same period, with the box going to $ 77.77. The same product put into Great BH had increased 30% in the month, partial $ 79,40/cx on Friday, 20. In Rio de Janeiro, the average price had increased 29 percent, to $ 79.33/cx.
The value of the product to be withdrawn also rose strongly in February partial. On Friday, 20, the extra type egg, red, to withdraw in Bastos, reached an average of $ 90.00/cx with 30 dozens. For the extra type egg, white, the increase in price is 27% in comparison with the same box with 30 dozens negotiated to $ 72,46 on Friday, also in Bastos. In Mirandópolis/Guararapes (SP), another important producing region, recovery of white was 29%, with the box of 30 dozen to $ 73,76, and red, reached 30%, which means that the box averaged R $ 90,01 on Friday.
