AmBev has 2.2% drop in net income for the 4thq

Sao Paulo-the drinks giant Ambev announced Thursday consolidated net profit of 4.659 billion reais in the fourth quarter, indentation of 2.2 percent over a year earlier.
Net income attributed to the company amounted to 4.538 billion reais between October and December, down 2.9 percent compared to the previous year and below analysts ' estimate of 4.70 billion reais.
Already the cash generation as measured by earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) adjusted rose 5 percent compared with the same stage of the 2013 6.801 billion reais, and topped analysts ' projections of 6.64 billion.
In a statement, Ambev said its investment plan in Brazil in 2015 will be equal to or lower than that of 2014, when totaled 3.1 billion reais in the country. (By Marcela Ayres)
