Supermarket sector registers fall of 0.96 percent in the year, says Open

Sales of the supermarket sector accumulate 0.96% drop from January to September compared with the same period last year, according to the Brazilian Association of Supermarkets (Open).
In September, sales in the industry in real values-deflated by the IPCA/IBGE, presented fall of 3.94% in comparison with August and falling 3.11 percent over the same month of 2014.
In nominal values, the sales of the supermarket sector recorded 3.42% drop compared to the previous month and when compared to September 2014, high of 6.09 percent. YTD grew 7.5%.
