The 100 most sustainable global companies of 2015

The Corporate Knights, Canadian publication specializing in social responsibility and sustainable development, unveiled, on Wednesday (21), its traditional list The Global 100, which includes companies with the best corporate sustainability practices.
The survey was created in 2005 and is announced each year during the World Economic Forum in Davos. The publication selects companies from all sectors based on 12 key indicators.
They are: energy, carbon emissions, water consumption, solid waste, capacity for innovation, tax payments, the relationship between the average wage of the worker and the CEO, corporate pension plans, work safety, percentage of women in management and the so-called "performance bonus".
This last attempts to identify if executive pay is somehow tied to corporate sustainability performance. For publication, this type of rebate helps to stimulate good practice.
Who leads the ranking is the American company Biogen, the biotech industry. Founded in 1978, she develops medicines for people with neurodegenerative diseases, hematologic and autoimmune problems.
According to the Corporate Knights, the Biogen stands out by making a more efficient consumption of energy than most 171 companies sector, in addition to notable efforts to reduce spending with water. Currently, the company consumes 66% less water than in 2006.
Only a Brazilian company integrates the new edition: Natura, in 44th position.
