Abraciclo: production grows 18% in July

The production of motorcycles totaled 135,504 units in July, up 74.2 percent compared to June and 18.2% compared to the same month of 2013, according to the Brazilian Association of Manufacturers of motorcycles, Scooters, mopeds, bicycles and similar (Abraciclo), Friday (8). The strong high occurred because automakers anticipated, due to the World Cup, to June this year the collective vacations typically granted in July.
In the first seven months of 2014, production of motorcycles totaled 905,117 units. The volume represents a low of 5.2% over the 954,618 motorcycles manufactured between January and July 2013.
Wholesale sales to dealers, industries of 113024 units in July, represent high of 6.7% over the same month in 2013. In comparison with June, with 80,223 units sold at Costco, there was an increase of 40.9%, also under the impact of layoffs. In the year, sales at dealers fell back 10% before 2013, to 838,630 units.
The July licensing grew 16.5% compared to June to 121,012 emplacadas bikes. On July 2013 sales fell 9.8% in retail. The average daily sales last month stood at 5,261 units, slight increase of 1.3% over June.
"Already we counted on a pullback in demand during the World Cup, but hoped the resumption of sales pace from the second fortnight of July, which did not materialize. Low daily volume of sales reflects the difficulty in obtaining credit and, in some ways, the cautious consumer behaviour on the macroeconomic scenario, "said the President of Abraciclo, Fermanian Marcos.
