Blue airline signs letter of intent with Embraer for 30 jets

Rio de Janeiro, 14 jul (EFE).-Embraer announced on Tuesday that it has signed a letter of intent with the company Blue Air for the purchase of 30 planes of the E195-E2 model, in a deal that could reach $ 3.1 billion.
The letter of intent between the two companies provides an order of 30 second-generation E195 models, as well as the option of buying other 20 of the same model, according to a statement released on Tuesday by Embraer.
"The forecast is that the contract (final) is signed in the fourth quarter of this year, when orders are converted into firm orders," according to the note of the third largest aircraft manufacturer in the world.
The letter of intent was signed on Tuesday during the international fair of Farnborough Aviation.
The deal transforms the blue in the first airline in the world to order the second generation (E2) of the E195 model aircraft, the largest and most modern manufactured by Brazilian construction company. The Blue is the company with the largest number of first-generation E195 in its fleet.
The third-largest airline of Brazil has 82 planes of Embraer, which form the basis of its fleet of 141 machines. In addition to the 50 ordered today, the company still expects the delivery of other 11 which had already acquired.

The Blue operates daily flights and serves 870 104 destinations in Brazil.
The company announced in April an expansion plan which provides for the lease of 11 large aircraft to perform direct flights from Brazil to three destinations in the USA (Miami, Orlando and New York) from the first quarter of 2015.
The blue, founded in 2008 and controlled by Brazilian-born American businessman David Neeleman-Jetblue-founder, took over from 2012 the condition of the third air transport company in Brazil, after TAM and Gol, thanks to its association with the Brazilian airline Trip.
The deal with the Blue was announced days after the Embraer received another request for 50 planes from E175-E2 model by the American company Trans States Holdings, which also has reserved the option to purchase other 50 apparatus of the same kind.
According to Embraer, the value of the deal with the American comes to $ 2.4 billion on how much the price in catalogues, in case that confirm the sale of the 100 planes and whether the transaction is carried out in normal conditions.
Trans States Holdings, the largest regional aviation group of the United States with 11 million passengers a year and 600 flights a day, is the controller of Trans States airlines Airlines, Compass Airlines and GoJet Airlines. EFE
