Trade grossed r $ 60 million with Cup games in Porto Alegre

The first three games of the World Cup in Porto Alegre have generated sales of $ 60 million to the Commerce of the city, according to estimates released on Monday by the Chamber of store managers (CDL) of the city. According to the entity, the performance reinforces the projection of $ 101.8 million in revenue for the sector in the five games that will be held at the Beira-Rio Stadium.
The CDL has informed that the last two games, between South Korea and Algeria yesterday (Sunday), and between Australia and the Netherlands, day 18, increased the average consumption and recovered the poor performance recorded in the first match, between France and Honduras, 15 day, when sales were 50% lower than expected.
The next match in Porto Alegre will be this Wednesday, between Argentina and Nigeria. More than 100 thousand Argentines are expected in the city, which creates good expectations for the trade, but also generates additional concern security authorities in relation to the so-called "barra bravas", fans with a history of violence in Argentine stadiums. The Federal Police has stepped up border surveillance and Military Brigade will join the policing inside the stadium.
The last Cup match in Porto Alegre will be on day 30, between the first place of the group "H", until now headed by Germany, and the second of the group "G" position for the time being occupied by Algeria.
Today, before the start of the game between Brazil and Cameroon, in Brasilia, a group of about 100 demonstrators linked to the "block of struggles for Public Transport" did a walk against the Cup at centre of Porto Alegre. With slogans like "Hey Fifa, back to Switzerland", the protest was accompanied by military brigade and ended without incident
