Braskem green plastic reaches the Argentine market

Braskem expands the presence of renewable raw materials in Latin America and leads the green plastic for the Argentine market for the first time. Petrochemistry features the application on packaging of Sussex Trend, premium line of flagship brand of paper towels in Argentina.
The novelty enough to encourage the use of green raw materials, by offering a more sustainable option for consumers. The launch is being conducted with the Petropack company, leader in the sector of plastic flexible packaging in Brazil and Braskem's partner for more than 20 years. The use of raw material from the ethanol is aligned with the concept of the line Tend to offer a product more environmentally friendly, using natural fibers.
The green plastic is made from ethylene from ethanol from sugarcane. The great advantage is to contribute to the reduction in the emission of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere during the production process of its raw material, in the capture of carbon dioxide. It also offers the same features as the traditional polyethylene, i.e. requires no adjustments to machinery and can be recycled. To help consumers recognize the Green plastics, Braskem has created the label "I ´ m green", which guarantees the renewable origin of packing.
