Walmart provides for increase of up to 20% on sales of Easter

Second most important date for retail, food at Walmart Brazil is expected to register, as compared to the same previous period, an increase from 15% to 20% in sales of seasonal products and items connected to Easter lunch or family reunion on Friday.
As for the chocolate eggs, the forecast of the network is that Easter sales are about 10% bigger than last year. In the period of the so-called Pre-Easter, eggs of smaller weights are the most sought after. For that, the shops of the network bet on products with his own brand of 35 g, and 70 g licensed Bambam and Pebbles, the Flintstones family. Next to the date, the sale of larger eggs will lead sales.
The retailer also offers private label Easter egg packaging with 100% reusable. The box turns into a picture frame, door DVD or to porta-object and has printed a QR Code that leads to the page with explanations on how to reuse it.
Fish, olive oil, wine and bread
The sales forecast of stockfish imported is 15% higher than in the same period last year. For Holy week, the other fish will have a growth of 11% in sales, compared to 2013. Most items sold are the Polish of Alaska and frozen salmon filet.
It is in this period that the demand for fresh fish, not frozen, it grows around 40%, especially on good Friday.
The network held special negotiations with suppliers of olive oil and provides 15% sales increase for the category with respect to last year. As for the wines, the company expects a growth of up to 20% from 2013.
According to the retailer, sales of Bompreço stores in bakeries and hyper Bompreço, mainly stuffed breads, must also register 10% increase this year. To do this, the network invests in launch of Easter bread with hazelnut chocolate truffle in the flavors and dulce de leche.
