Orange juice factory file should expand its production by 500%

The cooperative of producers of Oranges do Vale do Mundaú (Cooplal) managed by the Ministry of agrarian development (MDA) resource approval in the amount of r $ 175 million, to acquire more juice extracting machine. The equipment will be used to expand the production capacity of the factory, located in the municipality of Santana do Mundaú, besides reducing the wastage of up to 40% of oranges.
According to the Manager of the Local productive Arrangement (APL) fruit culture in the Valley of the Mundaú, AGU, Tam, the machine will work with the orange type C, which the market cannot absorb. "The oranges of type A and B will continue to be marketed, the remainder will serve for the aggregation in the value of the product through the production of juice," he explains.
The factory currently has two machines that produce about 2,000 gallons of juice per day. with the acquisition of new equipment, the production will be five times greater, reaching ten thousand liters per day, which represents an increase of 500% in production.
"Thanks to the support of the Government of Alagoas and Sebrae it was possible to win this victory. More than 30 families are benefited directly from the sale of the products of the cooperative, in addition to hundreds more indirectly, "says the President of Cooplal, Antonio Carlos.
The actions of the APL Fruit Mundaú River Valley are part of the program of local productive arrangements (ROLE), coordinated by the Secretary of State for planning and Economic Development (Seplande) and by Sebrae, in partnership with the Department of agriculture and agrarian development (Seagri) and Develops – Agência de Fomento de Alagoas.
