Natura invests R $ 178 mi in industrial complex in PA

SÃO PAULO-Natura inaugurated this Wednesday, 12, an industrial complex in the city of Baku, in Pará, which brought together project investments of r $ 178 million. The venture will concentrate production of fixed oils and soaps from Natura.
The called Ecoparque was one of the focuses of the company's investment in the last year. In 2013, the total investments reached R $ 553,9 million and included the expansion of production capacity, the company's factory in Cajamar in São Paulo. The new plant of nature in the Amazon begins activities with a production capacity of more than 200 million bars of SOAP and about 400 tons of fixed oils. In addition to these products, the Ecoparque also will absorb the production of "noodle", base for the manufacture of soaps, which was previously manufactured in the company's old unit, located in the town of Bala.
The complex is built on an area of 172 hectares and the proposal is that the space receive still other companies, of different market segments, as the cosmetics manufacturer takes up only 10% of the total area. "The idea is to create a truly shared operation, a network of cooperation, in which the industries installed in a same space can exchange resources and articulate joint alternatives to promote the generation of sustainable business in the region," said in a statement the Director-President of Natura, Alessandro Carlucci. "In addition to leverage demand for inputs-biodiversity and the local entrepreneurship," he added.
The space has an eco-friendly proposal. Natura emphasized that resources were used as treatment of effluents from the roots of plants and implementation of systems that reduce the temperature inside buildings.
