Ambev inaugurates production line of Budweiser brand in Piraí (RJ)

Ambev today inaugurated the production line of the Budweiser brand in the unit of Piraí, Rio de Janeiro State. The plant, acquired by the company in 2007, will be the second in the country to produce the main global beer company. Launched in the country in 2011, Budweiser was brewed so far only at the branch of Jacareí, São Paulo, and arrives at Rio de Janeiro to further strengthen brand, official sponsor of the Fifa World Cup 2014. Thanks to an investment of $ 165 million in the subsidiary, the brand will have two lines dedicated to its manufacture in Piraí. A with ability to produce 60 thousand long neck bottles per hour and the other, 90 thousand 350 ml cans per hour.
With the arrival of Budweiser, the factory's portfolio, which already has 70 types of different products (between brands and packaging), is even more complete. The seven production lines totaling an installed capacity – beer and soda – approximately eight million hectolitres per year.
