Fish production in Brazil moved $ 3,055 billion in 2013

The production of fish and shrimp in Brazil moved $ 3,055 billion last year, according to new data released yesterday by the IBGE. This is the first time that the Institute includes, in his research of municipal animal husbandry, aquaculture up data. The study showed that the fish is the most representative in the industry, weighing from 66.1%, followed by Cameroon with 25%. The Midwest region concentrates the largest production, with 26.8 percent, followed by the South (22.4 percent), Northeast (19.5 percent), North (18.6%) and Southeast (12.8 percent).
The State of greatest production is Mato Grosso, with 75.63 million tons, followed by Paraná (51.14 million tons) and Ceará (30.67 million tons). Total production of fish farming in the country amounted to 392.493 thousand tons.
