Sales growth for 2014 should be only 1%

After record fall of 0.9% of sales in 2013, the first in ten years, the auto industry should get only a recovery in 2014. According to the National Association of Automotive vehicle manufacturers (Anfavea) on Tuesday, this year will be a transitional period for the sector.
"When we close the projections to 2014, we take into consideration a number of issues, such as the calendar, for example, once in the first half of the year we will have many holidays", justified the President of Anfavea, Luiz Moan.
In 2013, got their plates were 3.77 million vehicles against 3.80 million in 2012. For 2014, it is expected a growth of only 1.1% of sales.
And for the second consecutive year, the production walked in lockstep with sales, but this time in a positive way. In 2013, 3.74 million vehicles were manufactured, growth of 9.9% in comparison with the same period in 2012.
According to Anfavea, the detachment between production and licensing is due basically to the increase in exports. In 2013, the external sales of vehicles grew by 26.5% compared to the previous year, when the sector had registered a fall of 20% on 2011.
In values, exports were a record. "Never have exported both in values as last year," celebrates Moan. In 2013, exports totaled US $ 16,57 billion.
Moan said that one of the greatest villains of the domestic market last year, has been tightening credit.
"We had a very difficult year regarding the selectivity of credit. But we are sure that, in 2014, the frame should improve ", says the Executive. It reinforces that there should be a significant increase of funding for the purchase of vehicles, but the stock of credit must grow 4% to 5%.
Moan also highlighted that the new automotive system should begin to take effect only in 2015, due to adjustments that the market must suffer next year. "I have no doubt that the Innovate-Auto will bring results in the medium term," said.
